Chopper Chicks in Zombietown is low-budget B-movie that features a gang of women bikers who ride into a dusty desert town that is in the process of being invaded by undead zombies. When given the choice to fight or escape and leave the townsfolk to fend for themselves… well, let's just say the biker chicks aren't the type to flee from any challenge.
While the zombie plot may seem to suggest this movie is a horror flick, it's anything but terrifying. Instead it's a campy romp that will make most viewers roll their eyes in an amused manner.

Dede: Death, f**k off.
As Chopper Chicks in Zombietown opens, we see an all-women biker gang riding into the small desert town of Zariah on the lookout for some meat. And I don't mean the type you can find in a deli! But what can you really expect from a gang that dubs themselves the Cycle Sluts?
Anyhow, Zariah is one of those quaint backcountry towns where everyone knows each other's names… just like Cheers! Of course that's not too hard considering the population is just short of 130 and steadily dropping.
Luckily their town pastor, Ralph Willum (Don Calfa), is always available to extend his sympathy to any grieving the deaths of the newly deceased.
Willum: Con was a butcher. Now he's dead, but… what the f**k, why dwell on it?"
Okay, so maybe he's not the best pastor in the world, but luckily he serves double-duty as the town mortician. And that's where he really excels, because he does a lot more than just prepare the bodies for burial… he converts them into zombies by slapping a battery in their head!
Willum's dirty little secret gets loose quite literally when a kid stumbles across his hidden zombie prison located inside an abandoned cave. The zombies consisting of the townsfolk long thought to be dead converge on the town to reunite with their living peers, but it's no surprise that the living are not so happy about the reunion. And that includes the Cycle Sluts, whose quest for meat is rudely interrupted.
Rox (Catherine Carlen), the leader of the gang, is initially unsure if she wants to enter the scrap with the undead, but her fellow fiery gang member Dede (Jamie Ross) and her compatriots enter the fray with no such reservations. But such a task might be too much even for these hardened chicks, so they decide to join forces with a bus school full of blind orphans and the town dwarf.
Together the motley gang attempts to lure the zombies into an old church by singing Christmas carols to get their attention, but the trap backfires. Can the Cycle Sluts run the zombies out of town, or will Zariah prove to be the end of their road trip?
Yes, Chopper Chicks in Zombietown is as silly as it sounds, but what else is to be expected from a Troma production, a studio known for their warped offerings? Fellow Troma skeptics are probably itching to distance themselves from this flick right about now, but hang in there… because this one was actually good!
While flicks like Surf Nazis Must Die and Class of Nuke 'Em High are too juvenile and trashy for my taste despite their cult status, Chopper Chicks in Zombietown was great fun! The humor and absurdity worked more often than not, and the acting was pretty darn solid for a movie of this type. Sure, the acting wasn't Oscar-worthy by any stretch of the imagination, but the actors played their roles convincingly and shared great chemistry with each other.
Oh… and there's another reason to see this film: Billy Bob Thornton in one of his first roles!
Diehard Troma fans may be disappointed to hear that Chopper Chicks in Zombietown contains no over-the-top nudity or gore, but that just makes the film all that more accessible to everyone else.
It is difficult to truly rate films of this nature, because while it sure as heck can't be classified as a good film by any normal standards, it was fun. So based on the guilty pleasure factor, Chopper Chicks in Zombietown will earn an impressive…
