Air Supply - Lost In Love

Released in 1981

Air Supply's first international release, Lost In Love, introduced America to their orchestral ballads and soft rock, scoring three Top Five hits for the band. Their 1981 follow-up, The One That You Love, was the album that solidified their place as one of the decade's best pop bands.

The success of the band was due primarily to Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell's silky smooth vocals; these Australian crooners could weave sentimental pop-ballads like nobody's business.

Some of the album's highlights are:

The three tracks listed above were not only representative of the best on the album; they were also the band's most commercially successful singles. That being said, there's no way the other tracks on The One That You Love can be dismissed as filler; this is the band's most consistently high-quality album of their career (excluding their greatest hits compilation), even surpassing the excellent Lost In Love.

If you enjoy soft rock songs and ballads that are as sweet as honey, Air Supply's The One That You Love will provide you the ear candy you crave.
